Til Tuesday was a new wave band that formed in 1982 with lead singer Aimee Mann, Guitarist Robert Holmes, Keyboardist Joey Pesche, and drummer Michael Hausman. This song was on the 1985 album of the same name. They won the MTV award for best new artist of the year.

Hate to disagree w/ you, but I have a live recording of the song from a few years ago... and artists still perform songs they wrote, even if the record label owns the songs. Not sure of the legalities; it's possible they have to pay the record co. a percentage of concert proceeds or something. She's great, though!

That guy at the end who's really fat in the audience with the beard and scarf and tux in the audience is Ken Shelton former dj at WBCN from 10am to 2pm and that's not really Carnegie Hall but the Strand Theatre in Uphams Corner.just sayin'

She wrote the lyrics and the music was written by 'Til Tuesday but the rights probably belong to Epic/CBS records, thus, it's not her song which is probably the reason why she doesn't play the song live.
