Seems like a neat camera, especially since it has a semi-manual mode where you can select the aperture and shutter speed. One thing that would be valuable to have is a way to lock exposure or have a smoother stepping adjustment, which the V1253 does not have (clearly evident when I pan up from the water). You should try out the z1012 to see if it is small enough for you. The V1253 slips very easily into pockets while the z1012 seems a bit bulky. But 720p is always nice -- check out vimeo.

I can't believe it. A compact digicam can make filmlook videos. Huzzah, hurray for Kodak (it's about time they made something good!)!

Camera records in MPEG-4. I edit it in Final Cut Express and use Apple Intermediate Codec 720p.
