You should listen the one on the Odeon theater on July 1974.

I agree. It's his cheekiness, daring, and violence that attracts me most of all. Sadness is common in music but not this form of cheekiness:)

I love the contradictions in Piazzolla's music: it's cheeky, bordering on the comical, and well, terribly sad at the same time. The ending is almost violent (dissonance and glissandos abound) much like the ending of his Le Grand Tango (reminds me of Ravel's Bolero and La Valse-- both hurtle to a spectacular but violent, final note!)

This is the best performance he ever did for this piece.

To whoever gave me the thumbs down...that system is for whoever makes an irrelevant or absolutely incorrect remark, not whether you think whether I am right or not. Show some respect please. Just because I have a different opinion doesn't mean I was wrong.

Musically speaking...I like the tango bit of this version better than the orchestral version, since the Bandoneón fits in nicely with the mood. However I feel that the orchestral version of the dance bit is more beautiful. In this one in almost becomes a joke.
