obviusly playback, perfectly balanced... about his lips and the music time, could be if the microphone was 300 meters from him, but ... hmm dont think so, he is very old to have that tremendous voice too.

he had high notes till 1978.the fact he didn't use it very often is the other thing..he is not one of my favourite and I'm against lowering opera's,so generally TheInquisitive is right.but beside this I have rispect to Carreras since I've watched Villazon and Cura.The old singers had at least rispect to Opera and didn't ignore it's basic rules,they played it with reverence.and what we have nowadays?tragedy in 4 acts.but it's not good if opera singer performances with playback.I don't like it

I agree with the comments that it is lip synched (playback) irrespective of the video/audio mismatch due to flv compression. At 2:01, his high note was 'too good'. Carreras' vibrato on high notes has widened considerably in recent years and this sounds like a recording made 20 years ago.

Carreras I rispect you like one of the best opera singers of this century. And you also have to rispect yourself stopping to do this kind of performances using a playback. I have this recording of Matinatta in a cd of 1988.

He's voice is from the 80's, I'm sure. Iheard him live in 2007, and he had not high notes at all.

I have just heard the same piece sung by Jussi Bjorling and I am sorry to say that Carreras is very poor voice if compared to Bjorling.Try and if you are not deaf you'll notice the huge difference!
