also put those 2 on a road with ANY curves at all and your going to see a porsche pull away like it's racing a ford fiesta. i have seen 2 decent similarly matched drivers, one in a porsche boxster S and one in a ferrari F430 run a few rounds on a technical track...over 4 laps the boxster right there neck to neck with the F430. on the curves the porsche looked like it was outperforming what porsche even claims it can do. after sitting in a porsche for the 1st time i realized how it was special.

i dont get the point of this video or the race? you put up a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat 6 engine in a heavy convertible 911 against a big V8 that's newer and probably has gobs more torque and power also??? whats the point? this makes the BMW look sooooo bad. it would be more fair to run the 911S in a hardtop, not convertible...the 6 cylinder of the porsche does not "carry" its weight as well as the big V8 of the BMW can carry it's added weight (from the convertible).

Yeah what they don't say is that the porsche is also 48kw down on power. So in the end it's a fair race

Ummm no. While a very good handling car, an M3 doesn't handle quite as well as a 911. Just look at lap times around the 'Ring. BMW M3 E92: 8:05Porsche 911 Carrera S: 7:59This video shows they have nearly identical power to weight ratios, yet the Porsche is faster around the 'Ring. This is just down to handling. So I don't know where you are getting that the BMW is much better at "steering"
