Only 2 405:s were ever built for racing. One Pike's Peak version and this version, built for the Paris-Dakar rally. The 405 never competed in Group B since group B was closed down after the '86 season. It used much of the technology of the 205 T16 though. The 205 T16 btw, was also used in the Paris-Dakar in '87 since Group B was banned.
